Kiribati Complex
Kiribati is a private villa complex located in Pecatu, Uluwatu, developed as a peaceful residential retreat within one of Bali’s most sought after coastal areas. The project brings together four distinctive villas (Villa Ebolebo, Villa Tina, Villa Jàvi, and Casa Fenera) designed as individual residences while forming a cohesive and harmonious complex.
The development focuses on creating a sense of tranquility and privacy without sacrificing accessibility. Set within the quiet surroundings of Pecatu, Kiribati offers a secluded atmosphere while remaining strategically located near some of Uluwatu’s iconic beaches, coastal destinations, and lifestyle attractions. The planning of the complex was therefore centered on balancing peaceful private living with convenient access to the surrounding area.
Each villa was developed with its own character and spatial identity, while maintaining a consistent architectural language across the complex. The design emphasizes comfortable living spaces, openness, and a strong relationship between indoor and outdoor areas, creating residences that respond naturally to Bali’s tropical environment. Together, Villa Ebolebo, Villa Tina, and Casa Fenera form a cohesive development that reflects a contemporary interpretation of tropical living in Pecatu.
Challenge:
Developing a multi-villa complex in Pecatu required careful consideration of the relationship between the individual villas, the surrounding environment, and the overall site. With three separate residences within one development, the challenge was to create a sense of unity while allowing each villa to maintain its own identity and privacy.
The location also called for a thoughtful approach to balancing tranquility and accessibility. The development needed to feel secluded and residential while remaining connected to the surrounding coastal destinations and lifestyle attractions of Uluwatu. Managing the spatial arrangement, circulation, and outdoor areas was therefore essential to creating a comfortable experience across the complex.
Our Solution:
Our approach focused on creating a cohesive masterplan that connects Villa Ebolebo, Villa Tina, Villa Javi, and Casa Fenera through a consistent architectural language while giving each residence its own character. The villas were carefully positioned to establish clear boundaries between private and shared areas, improving privacy while maintaining a sense of openness throughout the development.
We also incorporated generous outdoor spaces and carefully planned circulation to strengthen the connection between the villas and their tropical surroundings. By responding to the existing site conditions and prioritizing natural light, ventilation, and indoor-outdoor relationships, the development achieves a balance between privacy, comfort, and openness.
The result is a unified villa complex that feels calm and private while taking advantage of Pecatu’s strategic location offering residents a peaceful retreat within easy reach of Uluwatu’s iconic beaches and surrounding destinations.
